GS News MEET ROBERT BATEMAN!! Join us at any of our three locations to meet wildlife artist Robert Bateman. Please feel free to bring in any of your own Bateman works, or books for personalization. Dates as follows: Wednesday November 10th from 7pm to 9pm at our Guildford Town Centre location, Friday November 12th from 7pm to 9pm at our Scottdale Mall location, and Saturday November 13th from 1pm to 4pm in our Semiahmoo Centre White Rock location. This year his new 2011 calendar will only be available through authorized art galleries. Also available is Mr. Bateman's newest coffee table book titled "BATEMAN-NEW WORKS". ARNOLD FRIBERG 1913 - 2010 Artist Arnold Friberg passed away July 1, 2010 due to complications from hip surgery at age 96. Mr. Friberg was well known for his historical and religious scenes. As a young man, Friberg worked for the Northwest Paper Company, for whom he created paintings of Mounties. He has created more than 300 paintings depicting Mounties, and is the only American made honorary member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He wanted to be defined as an artist that painted a wide variety of things. Rest in Peace 1913 - 2010. PINO 1939-2010. It is with deep sadness that we must inform you of the passing of artist Pino Dangelico. Pino, born in the South of Italy, grew up during World War II, in the care of the remaining matriarchal society. The memories of these formative years would be the sustenance of his life’s work as a fine art painter. These masterful paintings, evocative of his deep respect and appreciation for women, have been collected by fans and peers, alike. Up until 2008, Pino accepted portrait commissions for the individual and for entire families, saying he enjoyed the challenge of capturing a person’s true essence. These masterpieces remain, as testimonies to the very intimate relationship between artist and subject. The world is richer for his great contribution, and Pino will be missed by all. Pino 1939-2010
